The Grove Hotel

The Grove Hotel

Discover with us the magic of Pembrokeshire - a land of spectacular cliffs, secluded coves, sandy beaches, offshore islands rich in bird life, of wild mountains and moorlands, bordered by the vast Atlantic ocean, beautiful in all its moods.

Some Puffins

St. David's, the smallest city in Great Britain, is ideally situated as a touring centre for the whole of Pembrokeshire and is circumvented by some of the lovelier stretches of the coastal path. There are several beautiful beaches within easy reach and the boating harbour of Solva is three miles distant.

St. David's Cathedral

Our small family-run hotel, a Regency house of great charm, built in 1816 of stone from nearby Caerbwdi Bay, stands three quarters of a mile from the coastal path and the delightful bay of Caerfai, and a few minutes walk from the Cathedral and historic Bishop's Palace. Our aim is to provide comfort combined with a carefully devised wine list, and a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

All rooms are centrally heated and have private bath or shower, colour television, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. Enjoy a leisurely Pembrokeshire breakfast in our attractive dining room then relax in a comfortable lounge or attractive beamed bar, or in the large gardens surrounding the hotel. Light lunches are served in the bar or outside on the patio or in the garden. Dinner combines a high standard of imaginative cooking with use of fresh local produce whenever possible.

Whitesands Bay

Local facilities include sailing, sea fishing, pony trekking, golf, bird watching and daily guided walks in and around the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

For those who enjoy country loving and a leisurely tempo of life, this westernmost part of Wales offers abundant natural beauty and tranquillity, coupled with that indefinable elusive quality - a mosaic of Atlantic rollers, tiny coves, gorse and thrift and sea campion, sea birds and grey seals, picturesque fishing harbours and colour washed cottages, all conspiring to create the Pembrokeshire magic.

Cliff view St. Nons Bay

And at the Grove, we try to create the ideal environment for an enjoyable and relaxed stay. The Grove Hotel is within the St. David's City boundary 15 miles from Haverfordwest conveniently on the A487 within easy walking distance of the ancient cathedral.
